Archos takes an Atomic PC tablet

A firm called Archos claims it is showing the way for netbooks in the future by unveiling a tablet machine running Windows 7, and possibly the Android OS.

The machine won't be out until later this year, and will use a 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z515 processor.

The machine comes without a keyboard, will have one gigabyte of memory, an 8.9-inch touch screen and options for either a 120GB or 80GB hard drive.

As well as supporting Ethernet, it also supports wi-fi and Bluetooth, with two stereo speakers, a finger navigation system, and a web camera.

As yet, there's no details of pricing, but the thing weighs less than 800g, and is only 0.63 inches thin. Archos is here .
